Aviation / OHS Safety Officer

Main Duties

          • Overall in supervising safety team to manage, implement, maintain and review the effectiveness of the Safety Management System to ensure the safety of ground operations as well as the health and safety of all CASL employees
  • Ensuring that safety audit finding, advices or warnings from regulatory authorities and customer airlines are addressed and to resolve the problems promptly
  • Organizing regular SMS committee meetings and Safety Action Group meetings to review, report and fine-tune the Safety Management System
  • Coordinating with operation departments to develop the risks register and take actions to reduce or eliminate those risks, and provide the necessary approval for the addition / change of the risk item
  • Develop and strengthen Company’s JUST culture by means of education, promotion, training and campaign activities and ensure staff are fully aware
  • Ensuring the inspection and audit programs are in full compliance with the Company / AAHK / customers / airlines policies and procedures; and applicable aviation authorities
  • Analyze effectiveness of safety and audit programs and recommend enhancement and corrective actions for management consideration
  • Ensuring subcontractors and service providers abide by the in-house SMS, OSH legislation and rules of AAHK
  • Formulating, documenting and maintaining quality control standards and on-going quality control measures to fulfill the customers / airlines KPI requirements including but not limited to zero MRO, defect management control. OTP, compliance in terms of safety

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Higher Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or related discipline
  • At least 3 years’ experience in safety or quality management in sizeable organization, of which 1 year in supervisory capacity and exposure in ramp operations is of advantage
  • Detail oriented, analytical mindset and a self-motivated team player
  • Good communication skill with the ability to articulate ideas effectively
  • Able to work independently and under pressure
  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Possess valid Hong Kong Driving License Classes 1 and 2
  • Register Safety Officer under the Labour Department is of advantage
  • Experience in IOSA, ISAGO, ISO9001, OHSAS18001 is of advantage
  • Candidate with more experience will be considered as Management grade position
