Planning Engineer

Main Duties

  • Prepare quotation packages — compile labour, material, subcontract, and tooling estimates; prepare proposal schedules and terms; coordinate with Contracts / Commercial for pricing
  • Evaluate customer work requests — assess feasibility, capability, and regulatory compliance of requested work and coordinate with LM / BM for work performance
  • Plan hangar slot allocation — coordinate hangar bay assignments, docking sequences, and typhoon / weather contingencies for outdoor work
  • Prepare manpower loading plans — forecast headcount requirements by trade and skill level; liaise with BM Production to confirm availability
  • Prepare facility and equipment plans — reserve equipment e.g. jacks, cranes, docking systems, and specialist tooling; verify calibration status
  • Prepare and issue work packages — compile task cards
  • Develop master production schedules — build Gantt-chart, including critical-path analysis and milestone definitions
  • Attend pre-input / contract review meetings — present planned approach, critical path, risk items, and resource needs to the customer and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct daily / weekly production meetings — brief BM Production on schedule status, open items, and next-shift priorities; record minutes and action items
  • Monitor work progress against plan — collect feedback from shop floor, update schedule attainment, and prepare recovery plans when delays occur
  • Prepare internal and customer progress reports — compile KPIs (man-hour consumption, schedule adherence, open defects, parts shipped) for management and customer review
  • Support audit activities — provide planning records, work packages, and evidence of compliance to internal QA, customer, and CAD auditors
  • Staff supervision – manage Planning Assistant or junior team member

Qualifications and Requirements

  • High Diploma / Degree in Aircraft / Production Engineering or related disciplines
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in aircraft maintenance or at least 3 years in aircraft/production planning
  • Possess HKAR / CCAR66 License is of an advantage
  • Sound business acumen and strong project management skills
  • Strong people skills with demonstrated negotiation ability
  • Proficient in MS office application
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
  • Require shift duties on roster basis
